Jill came to Nashville in 2006 from Jacksonville, Florida, where she served as an Elementary Assistant Principal and a High School Vice Principal. She has been the Executive Principal at J.T. Moore Middle since the fall of 2006. Jill grew up in the Atlanta area and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Education from the University of Georgia. She taught Spanish (and other subjects) in public and private schools in Atlanta and Savannah, Ga., for ten years. After completion of her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Georgia Southern University, Jill moved to school administration. She is presently nearing completion of a Ph.D. program in Public Administration at Tennessee State University’s Institute of Government in the College of Urban Affairs. She has held numerous leadership positions at the state and local level in both professional and civic organizations. Jill was recently appointed to the Mayor's Task Force on Special Education.
