Lobby Guard comes to JTM
Last year this new badging and check in system was piloted at 5 locations as a safety initiative. This year, MNPS is expanding the pilot to 7 more schools. J.T. Moore Middle is one of those schools. The badging stations are configured to check the National Sex Offender Registry and a district "watchlist" of persons who have been flagged for various reasons (e.g. zero tolerance, Order of Protection, restraining orders, custody issues, etc.) before a badge is printed. Reports can be printed listing everyone that signed-in, their status (visitor, substitute, vendor, etc.), and the dates and times they signed-in and signed-out. The badging station is designed to be self-service with directions in both English and Spanish. How does it work? You stand before a camera, insert your driver's license, press a few buttons, and a badge is printed with your name, photo, time and date, barcode and destination. When you are ready to leave, you scan the barcode to sign-out. Easy and safe!
